Chinese delegation attending the second plenary meetings of ISO/TC274

On March 27, 2014, the second plenary meetings of ISO/TC274 Light and Lighting Technology Committee was held in the seventeenth meeting room in Association Francaise de Normalisation (AFNOR). The Chinese delegation consisted of 5 persons, including Mr. Ruan Jun from Beijing SSL S&T Promotion Center (CSAS), Ms. Zhang Wei from Beijing Lighting Research Institute, Mr. Mou Tongsheng from Zhejiang University, Mr. Zhan Wei from Shenzhen Institute of Standards and Technology and Mr. Wang Shuxiao from China Academy of Building Research.

Officers responsible for contact between the ISO/TC274 and other standardization organizations were appointed at the meeting (such as ISO/TC163, ISO/TC205 and IEC/TC34). Mr. Wang Shuxiao from China Academy of Building Research was appointed as the liaison officer responsible for the contact between ISO/TC274 and ISO/TC205 Building Environment Design. At the meeting, the members discussed the strategy business plan and submitted it to the ISO Central Secretariat (CS) to be approved by the Technology Management Bureau (TMB); The third plenary meetings of ISO/TC274 will be held in Beijing in mid-April of 2015; a working group will be established after the Energy Performance of Lighting in Buildings under NWIP is passed.

Mr. Wang Shuxiao made an introduction to the work of ISO/TC205 at the meeting, including its working scope, the TC-related working groups (WG) and suggestions for future work etc. Ms. Martina, chairperson of ISO/TC274, highly praised the presentation in PPT by Mr. Wang Shuxiao and suggested that the liaison should follow his practice; Professor Mou Tongsheng made a PPT with non-visual effects and the detailed PPT would be provided later for further discussion; Ms. Zhang Wei discussed the labor division of ISO/TC274 and CIE standards preparation, the scoring rules for the working groups, the procedures for proposal submitting and structures of coordinating committees. Mr. Ruan Jun, Head of the Chinese delegation, proposed that the third plenary meetings of ISO/TC274 be held in Beijing in mid-April of 2015 under the instruction of the Standardization Administration of the People’s Republic of China (SAC); at the same time, China Illuminating Engineering Society and CSA will hold the Beijing Lighting Exhibition and relevant technology seminars in Beijing so that the attendees may exchange ideas with each other more conveniently. At the third plenary meeting, the attendees will make a more detailed plan and discussion for ISO/TC274 standardization, which will provide a good opportunity for us to participate in international standardization work. We hope our experts and enterprises may actively participate in the work. We will soon start the preparation work for the meeting under the guidance of SAC.
