LED Panel Lighting Standard for Plant-Growth Was Issued by CSA

Recently, CSAS published a CSA standard: CSA021-2013 LED Panel Lighting for Plant Growth-Performance Specifications. The standard has made specifications on the terms and definitions, classification and nomenclature, , technical requirements, testing methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of LED panel light for plant growth.

The standard, CSA021-2013 LED Panel Lighting for Plant Growth-Performance Specifications, was drafted by Institute of Semiconductors of CAS, AsiLed.com, Nanjing Agricultural University, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, EVERFINE Corporation, Xiamen Hualian Electronics Co., Ltd and Wuxi Huazhaohong Optoelectronic Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing SSL S&T Promotion Center, with a purpose to promote the application of LED lighting products in plant growth.

CSAS hopes, based on CSA standard drafting, to continuously improve the technical standard level promoted by technology progress and innovation, promote the transformation of research achievements based on technical standard drafting and application, make use of the guidance and leading roles of the technical standard. At present, there are various kinds of LED lighting products for plant growth, including LED panel lights, double-capped LED lamps and flexible rope lights, etc, all of which will change with the progresses in technologies. CSAS will continue to draft standards for the application of LED light in plant growth based on technology progresses so as to promote the development of the technology and the industry.
