In order to ensure technical rationality of CSA standards, to improve adoption rate of CSA standards and support the implementation of relevant national policies, CSA held the seminar of CSA022-CSA026 standards of interface requirements for LED lighting in Shanghai on August 31, 2013. Ruan Jun, Deputy Secretary-General of CSA and Secretary-General of CSAS, said that the enterprises were the main body of industry and the main user of the standards, and that they were encouraged to participate in the standards developing course by putting forward more recommendations. More than 70 representatives from Epistar corporation, Nanjing Handson Co. Ltd, Philips, Shanghai Sansi, Shanghai Yaming lighting Co., Ltd, Ningbo Sunpu, Jiuzhou Optoelectronics, Dongguan Institute of OPTO-Ekectronics Peking University, the China Metrology Institute, National Semiconductor discrete device QC Center, China CESI (Guangzhou) Laboratory, Centre Testing International Corporation, China Certification Center for Quality Mark, EVERFINE Corporation, etc. attended the seminar.

He briefed the background of the project, testing
methods, progress and feedback of the project and its modification process. Zhou Xiang,
vice-president of the Changzhou SSL Lighting applications Laboratory and State
Key Laboratory of Solid-state Lighting (SKL) Changzhou base explained CSA023
LED Interface Requirements for Application of LED Lighting - Downlight Consisting of LED Module with No Heatsink and Separated Control Gear (consultation draft)
and CSA025 Interface Requirements for
Application of LED Lighting - Spotlight Consisting of LED Module with No Heatsink
and Separated Control Gear (consultation draft).
Based
on the consultation drafts' content, participants had in-depth and careful
studies, actively raised
questions on specific test methods, definition, data, indicator, etc. They had lively interaction with the
members of the working group regarding
the CSA standards. Representatives
acknowledged the
achievements of CSA standards, and also
put forward many constructive opinions in support of draft revision and
improvement.
Ruan Jun said that the development
of solid-state lighting
was very fast with
interchangeability as an important
feature. From the view of industry development, enterprise should be the main
body of standardization work. However, considering that the innovation capacity
and standardization level of present
enterprise , a joint operation on generic technology
research of specifications
interface was being conducted
through State Key Laboratory together with backbone enterprises, promoting CSA
standards at the same time. It was said that the CSAS had established CSAS Interface
Standardization working
group from State Key Laboratory members in 2013, responsible for the
standardization of LED lighting product interfaces, and had developed CSA016, CSA018 and other
standards.
