CSA Was Approved To Be the Group Leader of Joint Working Group of

 ISO/TC 274 Domestic Technical Counterparts

Based on the decision of Standardization Administration of the People´s Republic of China (SAC), Beijing SSL S&T Promotion Center (Foreign liable institution of China Solid State Lighting Alliance (CSA)) was approved to be the Group leader of Joint Working Group of ISO/TC274 Domestic Technical Counterparts.

In November 2012, International Standards Organization announced the establishment of Light and Lighting Technical committee. CIE established this committee to adapt to the furious international competition in lighting and expand its international strategic standard. Its working scope included: Standardization in the field of application of lighting in specific cases complementary to the work items of the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) and the coordination of drafts from the CIE, in accordance with the Council Resolution 19/1984 and Council Resolution 10/1989 concerning vision, photometry and colorimetry, involving natural and man-made radiation over the UV, the visible and the IR regions of the spectrum, and application subjects covering all usage of light, indoors and outdoors, energy performance, including environmental, non-visual biological and health effects. The Secretariat of ISO / TC 274 was set up in Deutsche Indutrie Normen (DIN) with Secretary General of CIE as its chairperson

The establishment of ISO / TC 274 would not only influence the international standardization pattern of traditional illumination, but also would profoundly contribute to the development of solid state lighting international standards. Considering both tradition and innovation, SAC decided to bring innovation to the working mode and take the form of a joint working group. The joint group consisted of Beijing SSL S&T Promotion Center (CSA's Secretariat), Beijing Lighting Research Institute (BLRI), China Illuminating Engineering Society (CIES) and Shenzhen Academy of Metrology and Quality Inspection. Among them, Beijing SSL S&T Promotion Center was the group leader.

CSA successfully applied to be the group leader of Joint Working Group of ISO/TC274 Domestic Technical Counterparts. It would utilize advantaged resources from home and abroad, take innovation to support the development of technical standards. It would combine industry, academia, and research together to upgrade China's technology standard to international standard, to improve international standardization influence of the industry and to seize the commanding heights of the industry.
