State Key Laboratory of Solid-state Lighting Was Approved to Be Group Leader

 of SSL Lighting Applications and Energy Efficiency Working Group

To establish the standard system of solid-state lighting (SSL) , to accelerate the development of technical standards of SSL, to promote the healthy development of China's SSL industry and implementation of the working requirements of "LED Standards Steering Group", Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China (SAC) decided to set up SSL equipment and materials, devices and modules, lighting source and luminaire, applications and energy efficiency working groups. State Key Laboratory of Solid-state Lighting (established by CSA) were approved to be one group leader of "SSL Lighting applications and energy efficiency working groups".

The working group consisted of representatives from relevant research institutions, local governments, testing agencies and enterprises. Centering on the SSL industry chains, they would speed up and improve the standard system as well as development of standards.. Therefore, the main work included:

1. Follow-up study on industrial and technological development and standardization of SSL trends at home and abroad as well as proposing a framework of the standard system of SSL in this field.

2.  Responsible for proposing projects of research, development and revision of technical standards in the field.

3.  Organizing relevant technical Committees to carry out research, development and revision of standards.

4.   Responsible for review of technical standards in the field.

5.   Coordinating related technical content of standards in the industry.

6.   Responsible for development and revision of technical standards of semiconductor lighting for groups without relevant technical committee.

As the group leader of SSL Lighting applications and energy efficiency working group, State Key Laboratory of Solid-state Lighting would actively cooperate with other members, carry out related work, and also use its own technology advantages combined with CSA’s advantages in the industry to propose and organize development and revision of national standards.
