2 CSA standards, that’s, CSA 027-2014 Technical requirement of lightning protection for Outdoor LED Lighting and CSA030-2014 LED lighting unit classification system were issued by CSA on August15. The two CSA standards were voted and accepted by all the formal members ofCSAS. Based on the collected revision suggestions, the drafting group revise thecommittee draft and issued the final version.

CSA 027-2014 Technical requirement of lightning protection for Outdoor LED Lighting led by Sichuan Sunfor made explicit specification on the model of the surgeprotective devices, the requirements on the installation of lamps, surgeprotective devices and lamp posts, which aims atprotecting the normal use and low failure rate of the LED outdoor lightingproducts. In addition, another two CSA standards, namely Remote Phosphor Components (CSA 028-201X) and The anti-surgestech-requirements of LED indoor lighting (CSA 033-201X), were also led by Sunfor, which represents the Sunfor’seffort to be a leading enterprise in relevant technologies. During participating in the development of CSA standards, Sunfor had realized that they had a certain gap in standardizationcompetence, which might benefit the continuous development of the company. Theywould continue participating in the development of CSA standards and make contributionsto the industrial standardization progress.

LED Lighting Uint ClassificationSystem led by Guangdong Solid State Lighting Industry InnovationCenter (GSC) has stipulatedthe principle for the level classification of LED lighting unit, covering allthe LED lighting unit in the whole LED product chain. Since the strategic cooperation between CSA and GuangdongScience and Technology Department from March 2013, 3 coordination conferenceswere held and a joint standardization work technicalgroup was established to be responsible for the transmission of Guangdong standardizedlighting unit and the CSA interface standard. The issuance of CSA030-2014 was another achievement in the standard transmission and mutualrecognition between CSA and GuangdongScience and Technology Department after CSA 016 transmitted to a technicalspecification for Guangdong standardized lighting unit in December 2013. In the future, CSA will cooperate further withGuangdong standardization organizations, research institutes and enterprises toexplore the new mechanism for the standardization cooperation between CSA andthe regions with industry advantages.
